ESFM USA won Gold, the highest award level, for Achievement in Sustainability in the 2024 Globee Awards for American Business.

The Globee Awards, which received more than 1,100 nominations this year, celebrate outstanding achievements across various sectors.

ESFM was awarded for its self-performed energy optimization projects that helped an international medical device and equipment manufacturing client reach its global carbon emission goal one year early. This work was also recognized by the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) with an Award of Excellence.

“It’s humbling to receive yet another award for our operational solutions,” ESFM Facilities, Sustainability Engineer Jess Riccardi said. “We’re grateful to have earned the trust of our client which empowers us to perform this meaningful work to make a difference in preserving our planet. We are proud of what we have accomplished but remain focused on continuing our work to find more efficiencies, driving further value for our client.”

ESFM’s operating team at the Mahwah, New Jersey site earned the award for executing projects that led to an 11% reduction in carbon emissions and nearly $500,000 in annual cost savings from lower energy usage, reduced maintenance, and innovation of the IFM service delivery model over the course of a year. These results surpassed site-level goals and significantly contributed to the international company’s success in meeting its 2024 target to reduce carbon emissions by 20% a year ahead of schedule.

“By working with clients to understand their workplace and environmental goals, we can tailor site-specific solutions to help them achieve those goals,” ESFM Vice President of Technical Services & Energy Solutions John Ramsden said. “This award is a testament to the innovation and dedication of our team, as well as the benefit of our self-performed approach.”
